TO OPEN HOUSE OR NOT TO OPEN HOUSE?

After the success of last year’s open house, we would love to put another show on for you this year. :)

We had so much fun putting it all together, and getting to meet your smiling faces as the doors opened was worth all the hard work.

I’ve been super busy with the women’s event at our church in June, but after that, I can begin to CREATE SOME DELICOUSNESS for you to purchase for Christmas for your friends and family (and yourselves of course!)

My hubby and I are heading to Uganda just after Christmas, leaving our kids in our parents very capable hands, to build the second stage of the hospital for COME Uganda.

So as much as I would love to put on this event, I need to know whether you are interested in coming along!!

As mums, I reckon it is our biggest challenge to raise our kids to adulthood and still be friends at the end of it!!!

What to step in and correct, what to let go…………and the hardest part is, you can’t learn it beforehand! No amount of advice from others will really help you – parenting is a contact sport – you can’t get good at it without getting a few knocks, some time outs, and thank God for the half time oranges where we can all take a break!

I love my kids with everything, but there sure are days when I feel like I’ve played a full 80 minutes of ORIGIN!

But then, you see this face….and all the tense moments simply wash away :)

It is SO EXCITING when you get to see a dream begin to unfold; to be birthed and nurtured along the path of adventure….ESPECIALLY when the dream maker is young and fearless!

MISS POLLY FLOWERS is the work of Ruthie Lawson, a young, gorgeous, vibrant woman who is staking her claim on the wedding industry in the Illawarra with her lush floral and design skills.

 

It gives me the biggest kick to see young women having a go, daring to step out and live their dreams!  With 5 more daughters still to be married, Ruthie better be planning on staying in business for many years to come!!!!!!!!!

Simba: No 1 Lion/Dog

 

Our Beautiful puppy, Simba, only one year old make a silly error in judgement yesterday. He was so busy playing with the cows in the paddock across the road – jumping and excited to see  his ‘friends’ that he raced across the road without looking and was hit and killed.

The driver of the dairy farmers milk truck stopped and offered his apologies, but it doesn’t save our dog…and I wonder if it will slow him down in future? A huge truck on a country road, racing at top speeds to get his work done, forgetting that families live along this road.
Families with young children, and pets. I only pray that Simba’s death wasn’t in vain…that this man slows down before he takes a human life.

COWGIRL COUTURE – AGE 3

I’m in the process of writing some copy for our grown-up company’s website, to share the process of how my husband and I came about owning a construction company, and the love we have of country/cowboy culture.

Even though I grew up in the suburbs, my love for country and in particular cowboys in chaps started real early!

I didn’t care that the boys were my brother and cousin, I was a sucker for anything with spurs and fringing!

I need some help, a kind of focus group if you like!!
